These recipes are for young children, provided they have adult supervision and assistance. But first of all, let’s go to the first rule of cooking: Wash those little hands!

Velarte cinque formaggi

Since we can’t travel right now, we should at least let our taste buds go on an adventure. This time, we are doing exactly what they do in Italy.

Ingredients:  Our favourite Velarte snacks, fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, Gorgonzola cheese, cheddar cheese, goats’ cheese, Emmental cheese and dried oregano.

Method: First of all, we’ll choose the Velarte snack that we like the most: Sunflower seed, peanut, grain… Once we’ve made that difficult decision, let’s put a teaspoon of tomato sauce on our Velarte. Now, let’s put the mozzarella and the rest of the cheeses, in whatever order and quantity you prefer, then add a pinch of dried oregano. Then carefully put them on an oven tray carefully at 180º until golden brown and crispy. Enjoy! And bon appétit!

Dark and White Chocolate Velarte

Snack and candy lovers, your time has come. You read the title and your mouth is already watering, right? Well, you’re going to have to wait, but don’t worry, you’re going to have a blast making this recipe.

Ingredients: One packet of chocolate Velarte, 120 g of white chocolate, 25 g of unsalted butter.

Method: Method: Put the white chocolate squares in a container that’s suitable for a bain-marie, or in a microwaveable bowl for the microwave. Add the butter and heat it until it melts, stirring it with a spatula. Add the honey and mix well until your mixture is homogeneous. Then divide each Velarte bar into about 4 pieces. Add them to the chocolate. Carefully stir until they have been fully steeped in the chocolate. Now, use a spoon to choose the amount we want per portion and we put them in muffin cases, moulds or dessert dishes. Then put them in the fridge and in a little while, when they have cooled down and hardened, take them out and devour them!

Salmon and avocado tartar

Let’s go with a recipe for the mini food critics. Just because you’re small doesn’t mean you have to have simple taste. So, let’s prepare a dish that is rich in vitamins, is simple and is very healthy.

Ingredients: Your favourite Velarte snacks 100 g salmon, 22.5 g spring onion, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp lemon zest, 1.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, half an avocado, half a tbsp parsley.

Method: Let’s start by chopping the salmon (thawed no more than 24hrs ahead of time) and finely dicing the spring onion. In a bowl, add the salmon, the spring onion, two tablespoons of squeezed lemon juice, one tablespoon of grated lemon peel, the olive oil, salt and pepper to taste and mix everything together. Meanwhile, peel the avocado and cut it into small cubes. Put it in another bowl and add a tablespoon of lemon juice, a tablespoon of lemon zest, parsley or coriander. Then season to taste with salt and pepper and combine.

If you have a chef ring, perfect, if not, you can just use a small bowl. Spoon one layer of the salmon mixture into the bottom of the chef ring, then add another with the avocado mixture and top with one more layer of salmon. Put it in the fridge for an hour. Finally, remove the tartar from ring or the bowl, use a Velarte snack as a crispy base and place the tartar on top. And that’s it, now it’s time to enjoy this exotic mix.

Home-made watermelon ice cream

We’ve already got lunch, a snack and dinner. Aren’t we missing something? That’s right! Dessert! A sweet, fresh, light touch to end the day. Shall we get started?

Ingredients: Chocolate Velarte, 1/2 a watermelon, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1/2 cup grenadine syrup, 1/2 cup simple syrup, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon zest, 1 sheet of gelatin, and mint leaves.

Method: Chop up the half watermelon, remove the seeds and discard them. Place the watermelon pieces in a blender until smooth and strain it.

Now take a pot and put in the strained juice, the lemon juice, the grenadine, the sugar, the lemon zest and the gelatin sheet and heat for two minutes. It is very important that the mixture does not boil. After 2 minutes, cool the mixture immediately in the refrigerator and let it stand for 30 minutes.

Take a bowl and fill it ice and water. Pour the watermelon mixture into another bowl and place it in the ice water to make an ice bath. Then beat the watermelon mixture constantly until it becomes slushy and then put it in the freezer. When it’s frozen, you can put it in a bowl and decorate it with mint. But did you think we forgot the chocolate Velarte? Nooo, not at all, here comes the best part, we’re going to use the chocolate Velarte as spoons! We know, it’s a delicious idea.
